You are currently hosting your podcast on the Springcast Classic platform (https://app.springcast.fm) and want to switch to the Springcast PRO platform (https://work.springcast.app). With this step-by-step guide, we will help you through the transition.
In summary, these are the steps:
Create a new account on Springcast PRO
Import your podcast show via the RSS feed
Send a request to Support to redirect the RSS feed
Add payment details
Replace links to the old podcast website with the new one
Replace any embedded players with the new PRO player
Important: when you switch to PRO, this happens via the RSS feed of your podcast show. This means that only data contained in your RSS feed will be transferred to PRO. Additional elements, such as chapters, branding (colours of your podcast website/player) are not transferred. Also, scheduled or draft episodes will not be transferred.
Your statistics will be automatically transferred the day after you switch to Pro.
1. Register
First create a new account (if you haven’t already) via https://work.springcast.app.
Then click on ‘Create new show’. You will get a pop-up telling you to select a subscription first. Follow the steps and choose an Essential, Professional or Team subscription.
👉 You always start with a trial period.
2. Import show
The next step is to import your podcast:
Go to your podcast show in Springcast Classic.
Open the Distribution tab and copy the RSS feed there.
In Springcast PRO, go to Create new show.
Choose your show plan and click on ‘+ Or import a show’.
Paste your RSS feed and click Submit.
The system will now automatically import all information from your RSS feed: description, published episodes, images and audio files.
Afterwards, you will receive a notification via the bell icon at the top right. Check that all episodes are present and that the progress for the show is at 100%.
Publish the changes via the large purple bar. This will put the new RSS feed, podcast website and embedded player live.
3. Set up redirect
After publication, you can complete the switch:
Contact Support and inform them that you want a redirect from Classic to PRO.
Include your old and new RSS feed.
Our team will set up the redirect. From that moment on, all platforms (such as Apple Podcasts and Spotify) will fetch your content from Springcast PRO.
ℹ️ Changes in the Classic platform will no longer have any effect after this.
Additionally, we will add a discount code to your Classic account. This way, your show remains available for free in Classic, so you can continue to view your historical statistics.
We are still working on a solution to transfer these statistics to Springcast PRO as well.
4. Add payment details
Unfortunately, we cannot automatically transfer payment details because Classic and PRO use different systems.
Therefore, add your payment details again in Springcast PRO:
Log in at https://work.springcast.app
Click the three dots at the top left and go to Billing.
Adjust your details here (company name, VAT number, address).
Add a payment method (SEPA direct debit or credit card).
5. Adjust podcast website URLs
If you have shared the link to your podcast website in Classic (for example on social media or in blog articles), replace it with the new URL of your PRO podcast website.
If you have many links or many episodes that you have shared, please contact Support and we will look together for the best solution.
6. Replace embedded player
If you use the Springcast Classic player on, for example, your blog or website, replace it with the new Springcast PRO player.
You can find the embed code in the show settings or for the desired episode.
Finally
Your podcast on the Classic platform will not be deleted immediately. So you can still view your historical statistics there. You will not be charged twice; your show will be made free in Classic. Approximately 30 days after your show has been moved to Pro, your show will be deleted.
Please note: changes you make in Classic will no longer have any effect, because the RSS feed has been forwarded to PRO.
If you have any questions after following this guide or encounter any issues, please let us know, we are happy to help! 🙌
