In addition to publishing and distributing podcasts, you can also provide feedback on audio versions of your podcast episodes in Springcast PRO. This helps you and your team work together towards the final version. In this article, we explain how to use the Creative Suite.
Important: The Creative Suite is available for users with a Team or Company subscription within Springcast PRO.
The Creative Suite consists of two parts: the feedback module and the edit module. The edit module is currently not available. Below you can read how the feedback module works.
Assign the correct rights to team members
To collaborate in the feedback module, it is necessary to give your team members the correct rights.
- Go to 'People and Access' in the left column
- Click on the three dots next to the name of a team member
- Click on 'edit'
Click on 'Creator Suite Level' and assign the rights to a team member. You can select 'All' or select certain podcast shows. In the feedback process, besides Team members, Editors and Guests can also work. They can log in to Springcast PRO with their known accounts and open a created project within the Creator Suite. See 'Roles and rights within your workspace' for the exact rights they have.
Open Creative Suite and create a project
To be able to create a project, you need the correct rights. First check whether you have (been given) these rights.
Then navigate within the workspace to the Creator Suite.
1. Click on the block with the dots at the top right
2. Choose 'Creator'
Start the feedback process by creating a project.
- Choose the show that belongs to this audio version
- Choose a title for the project
- Click on 'Start reviewing'
Below you see an example:
Working in the feedback module
Now you can get started!
Add an audio file
Select an audio file or drag it to the screen. By default, a 'Version 1.0' is now created within the project.
Wait a moment until the audio is loaded correctly.
Listening and placing comments
If you choose the 'selection tool', you can navigate through the audio to listen attentively. Want to place comments directly? Then choose the 'comments mode'. Use the slider at the bottom left to zoom in and out.
You can make a specific time point or a time selection with your mouse. To make a time selection, hold down the left mouse button and drag the mouse over the audio wave. Release to stop the selection.
Add a comment by clicking on the speech bubble next to the green dot. Type your comment and click on 'Send'.
All comments are collected under the 'Comments' section. You can also drag the purple bar under 'Audio' at the bottom to quickly locate the positions of comments and tasks.
You can always update or delete comments by clicking on the three dots next to the comment in the comments column.
Convert comment into task
You can also convert comments into tasks. This is useful for the person who is editing the audio.
- Click on the three dots by the comment and choose 'Convert to task'.
- The comment now becomes a task under 'Tasks'.
- The task is by default assigned to the person who creates the task.
- Want to assign the task to someone else? Then click on the folder icon, select the right person and click on 'Submit'.
If you are assigned a task, you can adjust the status at the top, for example to 'Doing'. This way other team members know you are working on it.
Create a task directly
Prefer to create tasks directly? Then navigate to 'Tasks' in the right column. Then, just like with comments, create a task at the desired time codes.
Add a new version
Usually the first version is not yet the final version. Therefore, the next step is to upload a new version of the audio once all comments and tasks have been processed by the audio editor.
- Click on the version number at the top.
- Click on 'Add new version' in the dropdown menu.
You can choose to notify team members of the new version, but this is optional. Team members then receive a notification in the Springcast PRO dashboard and by email.
Make your choice by toggling the checkbox on or off and then click the purple button.
A new screen now opens and at the top right you see 'Version 2.0'. From now on you can work together on the second version.
Save and close project temporarily
Want to save the project temporarily? Then click on 'File' at the top left and then on 'Save and close project'.
The project can be found under the 'Open' tab in the main menu of the feedback module.
- If the project is saved temporarily, it gets the status 'Draft'.
- As soon as a version within the project is approved, the status changes to 'Approved'.
Approve version
Have all team members listened to the latest version and is it ready for publication? Then click on 'Approve version'.
In the pop-up that appears, you can choose to notify team members.
Download version or save in PRO file manager
To publish this version, you can:
- Download the version and save it on your device.
- Save the version directly in the file manager (recommended).
When you create a new episode in Springcast PRO, you can then easily upload the audio from the file manager. This is safer and more efficient.
If you choose to save in the file manager, you will get a pop-up with the file name. This way you can easily find the file later. Click on 'Confirm'.
Find version in the PRO file manager
- Click again on the block with the 9 dots at the top right and navigate to PRO.
- Click on the show for which you created the project.
- Go to 'Files & Media' (the file manager).
Navigate in the file manager to 'Projects'. Choose the right project and click on the folder.
Here you will find the approved audio.
Create new episode and add audio file
You can get started immediately with a new episode! In Springcast PRO you can easily create a new episode and upload the final audio version directly from the file manager.
- Create a new episode within your show
- Click the 'File manager' button next to 'Upload audio file'
- Click on the 'Projects' folder and select the correct project
- Click on the audio file
- The audio file will be uploaded
