There might come a time when you want to end a podcast show. Perhaps you want a fresh start with a new concept, or maybe your podcasting adventure is coming to an end (for now). In Springcast PRO, there are two ways to handle this.
In this article, we’ll explain how it works, the difference between immediate deletion and cancellation, and what you need to keep in mind.
Important: Roles and Permissions
Managing your show and subscription can only be done by the account Owner or a user with the Finance role.
The two options
When you decide to remove a show, you have two choices:
1. Delete show immediately (Keep subscription active)
Do you want to stop your current show but immediately start a new podcast under the same subscription? Choose this option.
What happens? Your current show (including episodes and statistics) is deleted immediately.
The benefit: Your subscription remains active. You can immediately create a new show and link it to your existing subscription. No extra administrative steps are required.
2. Cancel at the end of the term
Do you want to stop the podcast and also terminate your subscription? Choose this option.
Until the end of your term: Your podcast remains fully accessible. The RSS feed, your podcast website, and the players will continue to function as usual.
After the end date: Your show will be 'locked'. You will no longer be able to open the show in the dashboard, and the RSS feed and website will go offline.
Final deletion: 60 days after the end date, our system will automatically delete all data associated with the show.
Tip: Changed your mind? No worries. As long as the show is in the 'lock' period (the 60 days following the end date), you can reactivate your subscription via the subscription page in your dashboard.
How do I delete my show?
You can start the deletion process from two places in the dashboard:
Via the Show Overview: Click the three dots (...) next to the show you wish to delete.
Via the Subscription Page: Navigate to your subscription settings to manage the status of your show.
Frequently Asked Questions
I’m moving to another host, what about my redirect?
Are you moving your podcast to another platform? It’s important that your listeners move with you via a so-called 301 redirect. Currently, it is not possible to set this up yourself. Please contact our support team, and we will set up the redirect for you!
What happens to my data after 60 days?
After the 60-day lock period, the show and all associated audio files and statistics are permanently deleted. We cannot recover this data once it has been removed. Always make sure to back up your audio files if you wish to keep them.
