With Springcast PRO, you can easily distribute your podcast to YouTube as well. This way, you’ll reach even more listeners (and viewers 😉). Note: this feature is only available if your workspace includes it.
How does it work?
The integration is set up per podcast show. You connect your Google account, choose a default playlist, and then upload a video for each episode. Along the way, you can adjust a few settings:
Distribute to YouTube (enabled by default)
When enabled, we’ll automatically upload your video to the selected YouTube playlist. The title, description, and publication date will be copied over.Is this video made for kids? (enabled by default)
YouTube requires this due to the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and other applicable regulations.Allow embedding (enabled by default)
Decide whether others can embed your video on their websites and apps.Select a playlist
By default, the playlist you set up is selected, but you can change this per episode.
Publication date & YouTube
A few important details about publication dates:
If you set a future publication date, the video will be scheduled on YouTube for that date.
If you use a current or past publication date, YouTube will automatically set the publish date to “now”. YouTube does not allow backdating videos.
Statistics
Once your video has been successfully uploaded, you’ll see it on your YouTube channel and in Springcast. We fetch YouTube stats daily, including:
Views (combined with your podcast downloads, giving you one total overview)
Watch time (minutes watched)
Average view duration
Comments
Number of shares
Likes and dislikes
Important notes
You can only upload a custom thumbnail if your YouTube account is verified with a phone number (via YouTube Studio).
If you later update the title or description of an episode in Springcast, we’ll also update it on YouTube (after publishing).
If you later change the publication date, this will not be updated on YouTube.
If you change the playlist, we’ll re-upload the video to YouTube, this time in the new playlist.
If you delete an episode in Springcast, we will not delete the video from YouTube. You can always remove it yourself via YouTube Studio.
