PLEASE NOTE: Anchor/Spotify for Podcasters previously made it possible to distribute your podcast automatically. This meant that your podcast was also published on Spotify and Apple with just one click. Because of this automatic distribution, you do not have access to Apple's dashboard and will not be able to notify them of your move there later. Therefore, first claim ownership of your podcast on Apple before starting the move (you do this using your current RSS feed). Have you previously submitted the podcast to Apple yourself? Then claiming is not necessary.
1. Import your podcast
- Go to your Springcast account
-
Click "+ Create new show"
- If you do not have a subscription yet, you can select the subscription you want.
- Select a show plan
- Click 'Or import a show'
- Enter your current RSS feed from Spotify and click the button to start the import.
2. Export your statistics
- Log in to your Spotify Creator account
- Scroll to your statistics in the dashboard
- Click 'Export to CSV'
3. Copy the Springcast RSS feed
- Check that the show is at '100%'
- Publish the changes. This creates a unique RSS feed for your show.
- Go to 'Show settings'
- Copy your unique RSS feed
4. Notify Spotify Creator of the move
It is now time to notify Anchor/Spotify for Podcasters of the move:
- 2. Click 'Log in' and log in with your Spotify account.
- Click your podcast in the left-hand sidebar of the dashboard
- Click settings
- Scroll down until you see 'Redirect your podcast' and paste the Springcast RSS feed under 'Redirect URL'
- Spotify will process the move
5. Check the move in Spotify or claim the podcast with another Spotify account
You can manage your podcast on Spotify using the details you logged in with in step 4. Do check whether the Anchor/Spotify RSS feed has been replaced by the Springcast feed. It is important that Springcast is set as the 'hosting platform', so that we are also allowed to retrieve the statistics from Spotify daily.
- Click your podcast in the left-hand sidebar
- Go to 'settings'
- Scroll down to 'RSS feed' and 'Licensor/hosting platform'
- Check whether you can see the Springcast RSS feed there and whether Springcast is listed under Licensor/Hosting provider. If this is not the case, click 'update', enter your RSS feed and select Springcast.
